When you put coffee in a chocolate bar...

Who doesn't love coffee and chocolate? Both are delicious, grown on a tree, have caffeine in them and can be roasted. So why not put them together to create a chocolate bar.

Two of East Brunswick's finest, Padre Coffee and Monsieur Truffe, have collaborated to produce two new chocolate bars:

  • 'Sweet Sailor', which is a 40% Ecuadorian caramel milk chocolate with Tasmanian sea salt flakes; and
  • 'Daddy's Girl', which is an organic 37% Dominican Republic milk chocolate speckled with Padre's Daddy's Girl Blend.

If you're a salted caramel fan, Sweet Sailor is for you with the perfect balance of sweet and salty. Daddy's Girl is also amazing and my personal favourite because the coffee flavour works perfectly with the smooth and creamy chocolate. What I think really stands out about the Daddy's Girl bar is the subtle crunch you get from the smashed up coffee beans scattered through the chocolate.

Local watercolour and graphic artist, Ruby MacKinnon, designed the pretty packaging. I reckon they'd make a great gift.

If you want to check out the bars, they are available at all Padre stores and online.
